Other relevant information: His father, Charles Albert Monks, was absent from the family of 18 years prior to enlistment and his whereabouts unknown. In letter from mother dated 16/06/1918, she signed permission for him to enlist.

Charles Albert Monks age 34, possibly his father, enlisted for service, but was discharged as medically unfit from Seymour G Coy. 3rd Battalion on 19/7/1915
